Those who are interested in our Anthology — Oklahoma: The Fountain of the Heartland —  and who are able to be in Edmond next Saturday, 27 August, are welcome to join us at the Clubhouse of Villas at Hunter’s Creek, 1000 Villas Creek Drive (see directions below), from 10AM to 12 Noon.

If you will be attending the meeting and are interested in discussing your story/poem with others, please forward a copy of the draft to our Chair, Donna Le, dkle45@hotmail.com, by 6PM Friday (26 August).  Or, bring a few copies along with you to the meeting.

DIRECTIONS:

Go north on Kelly Avenue from downtown Edmond.  Just before arriving at the intersection of Kelly Avenue and Coffee Creek Road, you will notice, on the west side of Kelly, an entrance into the residential community of Villas at Hunter’s Creek.  That street turning in is Villas Creek Drive.  As you go through the gates, you will see the Clubhouse directly ahead, next to the swimming pool.  (Note:  On the east side of Kelly Avenue, directly across from the entrance to Villas at Hunter’s Creek, you will notice the Coffee Creek Golf Club.)

 Our next meeting will be held Saturday, July 30, from 10AM to 12Noon.  The meeting place will be the Clubhouse of Villas at Hunter’s Creek, 1000 Villas Creek Drive, Edmond, OK.

The meeting will be open to those who wish to have their writing considered for inclusion in our published anthology, Oklahoma: The Fountain of the Heartland.   Also, if you are interested in having your drafted article/story critiqued (in whole or in part) for encouragement and suggestions, please forward a  copy to our Chair, Donna Le, dkle45@hotmail.com , by Friday July 22, if possible.

Well, we are finally tooting our own horns .  A new page has been added to this site, entitled About Heartland Fountain LLC.  There you will find information about the purpose of our organization, and a few bio details about each of the LLC’s officers.

We are looking forward to seeing you at our class/meeting on Saturday, 25 June.  More details on that meeting are in the article below entitled “Anthology Meeting!”

The Heartland Fountain anthology project will be holding a class on Saturday, June 25, from 10AM to 12Noon.  The class will be held in the Clubhouse of Villas at Hunter’s Creek, 1000 Villas Creek Drive, Edmond, OK.

This will be open to those who wish to have their writing considered for inclusion in our published anthology, Oklahoma: The Fountain of the Heartland.  We’ll be concentrating on writing techniques and guidelines, any mentoring needs, and other information which will help those trying to make a decision on subject matter for their submissions.

Heartland Fountain, LLC, has announced the start of an anthology project.

If you wish to have your writing considered for inclusion in our published anthology, Oklahoma: The Fountain of the Heartland, the following submission guidelines must be followed:

….Unpublished short stories, maximum 3,000 words.

….Poetry (rhymed or unrhymed), maximum 40 lines.

….Standard manuscript format. Times New Roman, 12 point font.

….Mail two copies of each entry, along with your entry fee (check or money order), to Heartland Fountain, PO Box 8165, Edmond OK 73083-8165.  Make checks/money orders payable to Heartland Fountain.

….You may enter as many times as you like, but each entry must be accompanied by an entry fee. Entry fee is ten dollars ($10) for stories and five dollars ($5) for poetry.  No SASE required as manuscripts will not be returned. First North American Serial Rights.  Rights revert to author 30 days after publication.

….Include a cover letter with all contact information, including e-mail address, and a 50-word bio.

….Genres include fiction, non-fiction, sci-fi/fantasy, and poetry. No erotica. No gratuitous sex or violence.

….By submitting your manuscript you are allowing it to be edited and considered for publication. If your work is chosen, you understand and agree with the conditions for publication in the anthology, Oklahoma: the Fountain of the Heartland.

….Entries must be postmarked by October 31, 2011 and must be unpublished, unaccepted for publication, and not optioned when submitted. Heartland Fountain is not responsible for entries lost or delayed in the mail.
